About Jodie

Jodie has always pursued art and crafts in one form or another. From the time she could hold art materials in her hands, Jodie has created almost every day, whether it be drawing, painting or creating cards. Art & craft has always been a creative outlet for Jodie, helping her work through stress.

Currently an online student at Milan Art Institute, Jodie is exploring different mediums including oils and mixed media and gaining valuable lessons in colour theory, drawing, painting techniques and finding a unique style.

Jodie continues to paint in watercolour, the medium being her first love. Jodie learned to paint in watercolour under the instruction of Renata Wright, a well-known West Australian watercolourist. She painted her first watercolour piece in 2018 and hasn't stopped since.

Jodie has developed a passion for birds during her painting journey, with a particular love for Australian birds. You will therefore see many of Jodie's paintings have birds as the main focus. Whenever Jodie is stuck for ideas on what to paint she more often than not will choose a bird.
